Brent’s first exposure to fitness was through soccer, which he played from the ages of 6 to 21. During that time, he was also cobbling together a gym in his garage with whatever equipment he or his parents could find. Although it was well-meaning, it wasn’t well thought out and, as a result, it meant Brent aimlessly wandered through big box gyms without much purpose or intention for over a decade.
It wasn’t until coming to CrossFit Magnus and being exposed to the art of picking up heavy things and putting them back down, did Brent find a purpose and intention to his training. Since then he has competed in as well as medaled at numerous local powerlifting meets and has come to enjoy the toil of squatting, benching, and deadlifting.
